Another local pub could be about to disappear in to the sinkhole of anthroposophy, if the sale of Tipputs Inn to Ruskin Mill College goes ahead. The latest acquisition would close as a pub and restaurant and become café, shop, offices, teaching spaces and accommodation, according to this report in the Stroud Life

A local is quoted as saying “Ruskin Mill is pushing locals out and taking the community away.”

And today in the Stroud News and Journal, news that a local Steiner college has a morning of stories; “Enchanting stories, enthralling tales and elaborate lies”

Looks like a win in round one – permission for change of use was unanimously refused earlier this week. The pub is also listed as a “community asset” which should give it some protection. And apparently there is a potential buyer interested in keeping it going as a pub so there is hope. But of course we know how persistent the Steiner people are.

Any thoughts?
